Ethernet connections can suffer from data corruption due to intentional electromagnetic interference. In this paper a software-based measuring method is presented, which allows a direct assessment of the effects on the link layer without an unwanted influence of software related effects on higher protocol layers. This gives a simple tool for a quantitative analysis of the disturbance of an Ethernet connection based on time domain data.

Absorbers used for improving the Shielding Effectiveness (SE) are compared in their electromagnetic performance. Therefore the permittivity and permeability are determined with a coaxial line experiment. The effect of loading in the form of metallic and dielectric structures inside a metallic enclosure on the SE is analyzed. It turns out, that the SE can be improved by using absorber. Also, the SE is affected by loading inside the metallic enclosure.

In order to evaluate the performance of next generation mobile communication systems in realistic deployment scenarios, system level simulation tools must be capable of integrating various models that reflect network deployment and user mobility. In this work, we use a simplified model for efficiently computing the path loss between receiver and transmitter in line of sight conditions as well as in non line of sight conditions using Berg's recursive model.

In this paper, the coexistence of KLEER (a proprietary wireless standard in the 2.4GHz-ISM-band for high quality audio transmission) in presence of Bluetooth and WLAN IEEE 802.11b/g is analyzed. The study shows that Bluetooth and WLAN can be a very serious interferer, especially when no Bluetooth device is connected and Bluetooth will periodically actively search for devices (Bluetooth paging).
